History
Brunswick Bowling Club is part of Australian folklore, with a colourful history spanning over one hundred years.
As one of the oldest Lawn Bowls Clubs in Melbourne, our club offers a unique mix of the old and new. With respectful eyes on tradition and our history, we welcome new generations of bowlers to the club and support our vibrant local community.
Whether you’d like to become a member, drop in for a round of barefoot bowls or host a function, our friendly atmosphere will make you feel right at home.
Brunswick Bowls Club takes pride in supporting local community groups and charities, through discounted function hire space as well as through our regular fundraising events.
Tamil Feasts
Based at the neighbouring CERES Community Environment Park, விருந்து Tamil Feasts is a social enterprise supporting recently settled asylum seekers through the celebration of food and culture and serving up traditional Sri Lankan fare prepared by Tamil men currently seeking asylum in Australia. Through our community partnership, to date we have helped raise over $12,000.
Sustainability
We are proud to be Australia’s first Lawn Bowls Club to become a member of the Sports Environment Alliance, joining the push to leverage the much-loved culture of sport to raise awareness, share knowledge, and support action to protect our planet. We have installed a 20kW Solar System, installed energy savings fixtures, incorporated passive heating and cooling elements and promoted key behaviour change initiatives that our friends and members can apply in their homes and workplaces.
